SEED Customized Accident Prevention Audits (CAPA)

Safety audits may be conducted on a voluntary or required basis by knowledgeable, experienced professionals who will assist in reducing personal risk and insure compliance with applicable standards and regulations. Audits are used to assess a company's safety management systems, determine the use of corporate policies and procedures in regards to compliance, as well as to identify what regulations apply to a given area or facility. There are four key benefits to conducting third party safety audits:

Electrical Audits

Objective

All electrical hazards will be identified and assessed in general safety audits, comprehensive electrical safety audits can provide a thorough review of the electrical system. This could identify potential electrical hazards, flaws in design system, maintenance system, etc.

Fire Audit -Objective

Fire in any occupancy has potential to cause harm to people and severe damages to property. Fire Safety audit is found to be the effective tool for assessing fire safety standards of an organization. Ergonomics Safety Audit -Objective

Ergonomics is the science of matching the job to the worker and the product to the user. Audit must covers situations such as lifting, manual handling, material handling, pushing, pulling, sitting, standing, ventilation lighting, office/desk set up, etc. that may contribute to injury.

Forklift Safety Audit -Objective

The forklift must be checked at regular intervals since they contribute a major chunk of workplace accidents. SEED safety assessor to performing independent external inspection of Forklift to ensure their stability and ability to perform the desired or intended operation and remain in service for a certain time period. Such in-service verification is conducted as per the checklists prepared in line with the relevant Indian and international standards and codes of practice.

LOTO Audit -Objective

Energy sources including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, chemical, thermal or other sources in machines and equipment can be hazardous to workers. During the servicing and maintenance of machines and equipment, the unexpected startup or release of stored energy could cause injury to employees. Failure to control hazardous energy accounts for nearly 10 percent of the serious accidents in many industries. Proper lockout/tagout (LOTO) practices and procedures safeguard workers from the release of hazardous energy.

Fire Extinguisher Adequacy -Objective

Fire Adequacy Safety inspections and Audits are undertaken for a variety of reasons, such as to indicate compliance with statutory requirements, as part of due diligence, risk management, insurance assessment, gap analysis against current legislation or standards or as part of a comprehensive audit program.

ETP/STP Audits -Objective

ELCB/RCCB Audits -Objective

An Earth Leakage Circuit Breaker (ELCB) is a safety device used in electrical installations with high earth impedance to prevent shock. It detects small stray voltages on the metal enclosures of electrical equipment, and interrupts the circuit if a dangerous voltage is detected. The ELCB detects fault currents from live to the earth (ground) wire within the installation it protects. If sufficient voltage appears across the ELCB’s sense coil, it will switch off the power, and remain off until manually reset. A voltage-sensing ELCB does not sense fault currents from live to any other earthed body.

EThermography Audits -Objective

Infrared Thermography is a science of using electronic optical devices to detect and measure radiation and correlating that to surface temperature.Thermal imagers can convert infrared radiation being emitted from the body into electric signals and thus present them visually. Infrared Thermography is the latest analysis tool for the detailed energy audit as the thermal cameras are powerful tool in viewing wall cavity insulation, ceiling insulation, moisture related problems. Several areas in electrical installations are not easily identified using conventional methods but these are able to locate with Thermal Imaging. Infrared Thermography is one solution for diagnosis used to determine the most effective plan of action to make the electrical installation more energy efficient.
